My experience was 45 treatments, where the staff were super-friendly and professional. I was often taken early for my 10-minute treatment. The only issues I had were external to Texas Radiotherapy, in that we had a 35-minute drive each way through all the construction and traffic on I-30 West of Fort Worth, which sometimes made it tough. The entire 28 treatment with Texas Radiotherapy was not stressful. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. I am very pleased and thankful for the care I received from Dr. Cavey and his amazing team.  As much as I dreaded the upcoming treatments, the team was always compassionate, caring, kind and friendly, which helped the days pass by quickly.  I was impressed with their timely scheduling as I seldom waited more than a few minutes and was frequently called back early.  Dr. Cavey, from day one during my initial consultation when he wheeled his chair close to talk to me and my wife about options, to his follow-up visits, continued to show me he was caring and concerned about my treatments and procedures for a successful outcome. My experience was awesome. I walked thru the door Karen and Allie cheerfully checked me in. On Wednesdays Gyannah took bp and weight and never mentioned I needed to lose some. Also on Wed Dr Cavey checked and made sure I was OK. During treatment Leif explained to me how the machine worked. Nicole was to cool the way she wore her glasses!! Melissa talked with me about boots and had to tell me time to get up it was somebody elses turn and I needed to leave a couple of times cause I was talking to much. With L. Linda we talked about Texas Tech Football and towns in west Texas. Mine was a fun experience I wanted to keep going and see everybody. Dr. Matthew Cavey is a top-notch radiation oncologist in Fort Worth. Dr. Cavey and his team at Texas Radiotherapy focus on individual treatment plans for their patients. (One size does not fit all.)  From the reception desk to the radiation treatment area, these folks are second-to none; professional, compassionate and caring. I find Dr. Cavey to be highly intelligent, knowledgeable, scientific, and results-based in his approach to patient care.  He gets right to the point with relevant information. While generally a quiet person, he has an engaging personality and is well-versed in a number of subjects. Tap into that quiet Irish sense of humor he possesses. His smile is engaging and reassuring. Further and perhaps most importantly, he cares about his patients. His team of radiotherapy technicians are outstanding . . . . including Nicole, Leif, Melissa and Linda. Finally, it is incumbent upon new patients to take responsibility for their care. Educate yourself; study and learn. Turn uncertainty into knowledge. Please consider that this classroom you are entering is outside of a school building. Your willingness to participate in your individual health and treatment plan will prove to be your KEY to success. Dr. Cavey and his team bring a positive attitude to their work.
